My condolences to you and your family during this painful time. 360's in a better place now, though, bringing entertainment to the angels in heaven.

Great write up, Chris. I get your point, and I agree that there is a total loss of connection when we solely rely on digital relationships. That's the part of me that just wants to drop FB and MyS altogether; the part that asks why I even have these accounts. Do I really need to stay connected with people that have no desire to maintain an "analog" one? Why should I maintain a connection that only consists of status updates and the sharing of funny pics and vids?

I would, however, like to separate IM, because the people that I maintain relationships with through IM are actual valid, tangible relationships. I don’t mean that they are also “analog”, but that the people that what I connect with via IM, and this may be completely different for other people, is way more involved than the simplicity in status updates. For me, IM really just takes place over a phone when a phone is not practical. In most cases, if I could only talk to people over the phone, we wouldn’t have the relationships we have.

I've never been to TN, but I can relate. Sadly, this is the majority in the 'Deep South". I too am all for freedom of speech and I can understand having respect for your roots, but how can you solute a flag that has been dragged through the mud in the way that this one has. I can’t tell you how angry I get anymore when I see someone wave the confederate flag with such passion and ignorance. The world may have come a long way in most aspects, but it’s amazing how backwards the rest of the folk appear to be.

But in any case, I'm glad you had a good time. You've got it made when you can have good times despite a crap society.
