So the big watch of this weekend was Oscar Winning flick, “Slumdog Millionaire” when I first heard about the premise of this, I thought this movie looked uninteresting. However with everyone praising it I finally got around to renting it on blu-ray and was totally blown away by the special affects and space battles….jk but seriously it was a fantastic film with a great story that made you really look at how one person struggles over adversity to achieve something greater, aka “their destiny.”
I also watched “My Bloody Valentine: 3D” however I did not actually watch it with 3D glasses, which is a shame because this subpar movie really needed any gimmick imaginable to distract you from how horribly crappy it was.
Also knocked out Seth MacFarlane’s Conclave of Cartoon Comedy which was basically all the flash back moments of Family guy in all its R-Rated glory, however a lot of the jokes just left me feeling uncomfortable for watching it.
On the video gaming note, I got in some more Killzone 2 multiplayer on my ps3 ranking up my soldier to Captain and unlocking some pretty cool abilities.
For the I-phone I picked up Trixel and Zedonia. Trixel was a simple yet addicting puzzle game with a lot of fresh and original twists to pattern matching. While Zedonia is a SNES Zelda style Action-RPG which is quite addicting and well designed for the I-Phone. I highly recommend both games as they are relatively cheap, 99 cents for Trixel and 6 dollars for Zedonia.
I also ended up finishing my book by Max Brooks, “How to Survive a Zombie Attack: Survival Guide” which was absolutely brilliant and hilarious all at the same time, a must read for anyone who is a fan of the Zombie genre.
I also rented the new Bionic Commando remake from Capcom/Grin that remakes the classic NES game(and xbla/psn remake) that was AMAZING, however as neat it is to see this 3D Remake of a 2d classic, this game falls short in a lot of places. It is basically a violent swing(spider man-esque) style game with a solid swing mechanic but overall boring and frustrating gameplay. So far I have played only a few hours, and not sure if I’m willing to deal with the frustration enough to finish it.
